solve the riddle: what are we talking about?
this was a story of more than 40 years.
the story began with the establishment of a few international organizations, enforcing countries to adopt fiscal austerity, cut welfare, oppress trade union, plunder lands from the poor, and most importantly, to treat “profit making” as the supreme principle.
what followed were the proliferation of shopping mall and luxury private housing, volatile flow of capitals, serious exploitation on workers, destruction of environment and communities, and the disappearance of public services upon which grass-roots relied for survival.
certainly, grass-roots would not resign themselves to oppressions and exploitations. Rather, they resist and struggle collectively for protecting their communities and lives, and they narrate their own history for telling this story continuously as well as communicating it with grass-roots in all over the world.
at the same time, would we bear the responsibility of listening and storytelling, so that experiences of alternative practices and stories of struggles can be circulated and inherited?
